This would be to instantly familiarize a player with what professions do and gives a goal immediately, even though the actual harvesting areas would still be locked behind a quest. Although, maybe that should change too if this kind of stuff interests people. The tutorial area would need to be fleshed out, a lot, and a big unavoidable sign telling people that they can choose a profession in the tutorial. Things like dummy items that work like real professions without actually having them, examples of the highest tiers of crafted gear/potions identified and displayed inaccessibly.
I just hate how they,profs, seem so underutilized that throwing it into people's faces as an option just feels more optimized.
