I have taken a copy of the corrupted production server. I will now restore the production server back to 6PM on Sunday (US time) which appears to be b4 the 1st reported incidents. Then I will track down the cause on the testserver.
Until I can find the cause the server may be at risk.

There may be more than one problem here.
The first I have found is that there was an invalid character template added to the mob spawner.
This caused the segmentation fault and the server crash.
I have added code to test for this and will copy this to the production server shortly.
The second problem of data corruption is not as clear as to what caused it, player action or something more random in the back ground.
I am still looking at this issue but be warned that until it is found there may be more issues.

Ok looks like I found the 2nd problem.
It was a bug I added when the mob_spawn code was implemented.
Hopefully it is all fixed and all lost characters now restored.
It me know if any outstanding issues.
Lab5 - ignored.
Bubbles - ignored.

LQ held as compensation and TNL scroll given to everyone online at the time.
It was a great event.
King and Rat logged off just before the event started. So sad.

Did you miss it Frog ?
So did Rat and his royal friend.
Actually I do not recall a very high participation rate.
Pity...
Maybe that is why i never run LQs.

My character isn't restored properly, still missing 3mil exp.
That's an outstanding issue.

Yep, I'm typically online well after peak hours during the week, so I rarely see LQs. However, Kiwi got arch skills this morning thanks to Lincoln, so maybe deletions will resume!

As general rule we do not try to work out who lose what in the case of a roll back.
The admin work to establish the losses is just way too much, in some cases it is not possible and it is taken as a risk of playing an old free game.
This policy was implemented long before I was on the admin team and I can see no reason to change it.
In the days when roll backs were more frequent and the game was less stable, imps used to try a run an LQ or two after a roll back but that was dependent on how big it was and who was available to do what. This is still an option if any imp wanted to do so but we also got the rage because people claimed they were not online for the LQ and hence missed out.
Hourly saves and 6 hourly backups plus increased error checking in the code have significantly reduced the incidence and severity of roll backs.
This is the first roll back that I can recall for a long time.
If someone with divine powers wanted to try and work out who lost during this roll back then they are welcome to so but do not take it as being a precedent for the future as I do not have the time nor the inclination to try and maintain that practice.
Apart from the actual disruption there was also the rage from disputes on how much was lost and what items went where and etc. etc.
