Dual Wield Poison Should Work With SH1

Post by Cyrus »

Just a thought. Seeing as the poison proc from DW affects enemies in the SH2 range, I feel as though it would be logically consistent if it were to affect enemies in the SH1 range for those who do not yet have SH2, or for those who have disabled SH2. Currently if you do not have SH2 active it only affects the target directly in front of you.

I've had this same thought before too. And I agree.

SH2 was chosen as the command to be able to turn on/off the DW poison AOE effect.
Without that ability you can inadvertently affect players and NPCs that you do not want to attack with undesirable consequences.

Using SH1, you could do the check just like SH1 does where it verifies they are attacking you already.

Yes I understand that LL, I think the setup for the SH2 poison effect is fine as is. Are you saying there is some difficulty to enable a SH1 version that only targets surrounding enemies that are attacking you rather than just blindly targeting anything beside you? As Lurker suggested I'd imagine that whatever allows SH1 to only target attacking enemies could also be used for the poison. Although I don't have the slightest clue how that works so perhaps it's more difficult than I'm suggesting.

I think the SH2 option was chosen because it was quick, effective and easy to implement.

That is not to say something else can not also be done if there is a need.

So you're saying it'll be fixed?!
